More than 350 city leaders and experts from across the U.S. attended the second annual 21st Century Neighborhoods Symposium in Baltimore, MD on Dec. 4-5, 2017. The symposium featured a conversation with four new mayors, a panel discussion of new research on economic segregation in 21st century american cities and metros, a plenary on the role of local nonprofit organizations in confronting violence and crime, a conversation on state preemption of local policy-making, and afternoon workshops on issues such as blight remediation, neighborhood development, and closing the racial wealth gap.
