Genee Smith studies the specifics of how climate change disproportionately harms vulnerable populations, and how neighborhood-level environmental exposures, such as degraded infrastructure, unfair development, and chemical pollutants, increase health disparities. She utilizes large national datasets to explore how inequities in the built, natural, and social environments combine, and she conducts community-based participatory research to address local environmental concerns.
