Natasha Miles

Research Professor, Meteorology & Atmospheric Science, Penn State University

Natasha Miles studies interactions between the earth and the atmosphere. As an example, daily and seasonal variation in the depth of the boundary layer – the lowest layer of the atmosphere – strongly affects concentrations of air pollution and greenhouse gasses (primarily carbon dioxide and methane).  She measures this depth using remote sensing techniques such as light reflecting from aerosols in the air.
