Michael Bader
Faculty Director, 21st Century Cities Initiative
Associate Professor, Sociology, Johns Hopkins University
Michael Bader’s research focuses on how residents and businesses locate in particular neighborhoods and how these choices lead to racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic inequalities in Americans’ well-being, such as low accessibility to nutritious food. He has developed methodological tools that combine different types of data—including the Baltimore Area Survey and Google Street View—to study neighborhood environments.
