Dr. Chunlei Fan studies coastal ecological processes and dynamics to identify and quantify the linkages between the climate, the movement of water, and the life forms that live in the coastal ecosystem. He uses field study and modeling approaches to understand how the ecosystem responds to the changing climate at various time and spatial scales.
