Katie O’Meara

Registered Architect and Researcher, Architectural Design, Maryland Institute College of Art

Katie O’Meara works to disrupt patterns of social disparity and racism that have formed in Baltimore’s political and natural geographies. O’Meara uses a range of thinking and making processes, such as observation, map-making, and story-telling, to explore data such as census information, satellite imagery, and aerial photography in order to reveal deliberate patterns of bias, neglect and racism. She then applies her landscape architecture background to work with communities to develop climate-resilient design interventions to restitch divided terrains.
